In January 2013, IDSCS began the implementation of a two-year regional project: “Civil Society for Good Governance and Anti-Corruption in Southeast Europe: Capacity Building for Monitoring, Advocacy and Awareness Raising.” The project is implemented under the leadership of the Center for the Study of Democracy in Bulgaria, and beside IDSCS, 14 other organizations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey participate.
The overall objective of this project is to contribute to a dynamic civil society in the region, capable of participating in public debate and of influencing the policy and decision-making process in the area of anti-corruption and good governance. By networking of these 15 organizations, a coalition for anti-corruption and good governance in South-East Europe is built. The coalition will be based on a joint strategy and agreed action agenda. The regional coalition of organizations will work on strengthening the capacities and knowledge, monitoring and advocacy on policies, measures and reforms related to good governance and anti-corruption. Coalition will promote civic dialogue in the country and strengthen the cooperation between civil society organizations at regional and national level.
In addition to the establishment of the regional coalition to fight corruption, the organizations will conduct public consultation, it will work to raise awareness at the regional level and it will implement a Corruption Monitoring System in the region in a biannual round.
