On January 23 2020, a coordinative workshop under the Horizon 2020 project \u201cIntegration and Differentiation for Effectiveness and Accountability\u201c was held at the premises of the Institut f\u00fcr Europ\u00e4ische Politik in Berlin, Germany. The workshop gathered researchers from the projects\u2019 Working Package (WP) 3, which analyses the effects of differentiation on the European constitutionalism narrative.<\/p>\n

The overall objective of WP3 is to unpack the ramifications of different degrees and types of differentiation and narratives on European constitutionalism and identity, including an analysis of the effects that these may have for relations with candidate countries, potential accession countries and associated third countries.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed at coordinating and recapitulating the work done in regard to the main deliverables of WP3. The deliverables consist of three research papers that tackle different dimensions of the relation between differentiation and European constitutionalism narrative, i.e. political unity and differentiation (conducted by researchers from IEP); legal uniformity and differentiation (conducted by researchers form NUPI and IDSCS); and identity and differentiation (conducted by researchers from IIR and SU).<\/p>\n

IDSCS was represented by researchers dr. Ivan Damjanovski and dr. Denis Presova who together with co-author dr. Christophe Hillion from NUPI presented the preliminary findings of their research paper \u201cLegal uniformity and differentiation in the EU Enlargement context \u2013 The Rule of Law as case study\u201d.<\/p>\n
