{"id":5461,"date":"2017-01-25T15:25:45","date_gmt":"2017-01-25T15:25:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idscs.org.mk\/en\/?p=5461"},"modified":"2022-01-31T20:52:43","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T20:52:43","slug":"regulatory-impact-assessment-in-the-shadow-fostering-evidence-based-policy-making-in-macedonia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idscs.org.mk\/en\/2017\/01\/25\/regulatory-impact-assessment-in-the-shadow-fostering-evidence-based-policy-making-in-macedonia\/","title":{"rendered":"Regulatory Impact Assessment in the Shadow: Fostering evidence-based policy making in Macedonia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Institute for Democracy &#8220;Societas Civilis&#8221; (IDSCS) with the Centre for Economic Analysis (CEA) will analyze how the process of Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) is implemented in the creation of laws and public policies in Macedonia and what are the opportunities for civil society organizations to engage in the process.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cRegulatory Impact Assessment in the Shadow: Fostering evidence-based policy making in Macedonia\u201d or in short RIA in the Shadow is project financially supported by the Delegation of the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Democracy \u201cSocietas Civilis\u201d \u2013 Skopje (IDSCS) in collaboration with Center for Economic Analyses (CEA).<\/p>\n<p>The overall objective of this project is to contribute to advancement of good governance in Macedonia through networking and capacity-building of civil society for monitoring and analysis of RIA implementation, through increasing the possibilities for CSOs active involvement in the RIA process and the public policy reforms through networking, inclusive consultations and capacity-building, and by bringing the implementation of RIA closer to the public, understood as specific public embodied by CSOs but also as a wider public.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is to bolster the awareness about the effects of laws, and initiate pressure from a wider set of groups for better implementation driven by informed discussion and analyses.<\/p>\n<p>The final beneficiaries of the project are the citizens. Good implementation and application of RIA will contribute to higher quality of legislation, higher inclusiveness of citizens, raised level of legal certainty, better financial planning and higher transparency of the legislative and policy processes.
