[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Institute for Democracy (IDSCS) together with the European Movement in Serbia (EMinS) from 17 \u2013 19 May 2023 organised the third and final study visit in Belgrade, as part of the project Advancing regional cooperation and EU integration through the Think Balkan initiative.<\/em><\/p>\n

The purpose of this visit was to initiate discussion on the current challenges in regional cooperation, phasing-in concepts, already established mechanisms and how the countries can use the full potential of these mechanisms in the EU integration process.<\/p>\n

In Belgrade, Anamarija Velinovska and Ana Sofeska, representatives from IDSCS, along with Ledion Krisafi and Seda Mullaymeri, representatives from the Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS) were hosted by Jelica Minic, Vice-President of EMinS and Dragana Djurica, Acting Secretary General of EMinS.<\/p>\n

During the meetings, the partners had the opportunity to share the inputs from the visits in the two previous countries, North Macedonia and Albania. The participants touched upon the main challenges that the country is facing in the process of integration with Miroslav Gacevic, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of European integration and Dragana Radojicic Filkovic, Head of the Department for Economic Criteria and SAA at the Ministry of European Integration. With Milos Todorovic, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Milica Vujovic Royle, Counsellor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs they had a discussion about the need for a joint action and cooperation between the government and civil society in the integration process. Additionally, they discussed the horizontal accession, multi-sectoral working groups and the civil sector impact with Ivana Lazarevic, Project Manager at the National Convention on European Union and Dusko Lopandic, Vice-President of EMinS.<\/p>\n

The project\u00a0Advancing regional cooperation and EU integration through the Think Balkan\u2019s initiative<\/em>\u00a0is financially supported by the\u00a0Western Balkans Fund\u00a0(WBF)<\/a>\u00a0and implemented by Institute for Democracy (IDSCS) in coordination with the partners\u00a0European Movement in Serbia (EMinS)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS).<\/a><\/p>\n
