[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Institute for Democracy (IDSCS) together with Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS) organised a study visit in Tirana from 3-5 April, 2023 as part of the project Advancing regional cooperation and EU integration through the Think Balkan initiative.<\/em><\/p>\n

The purpose of this visit was to initiate discussion on the progress and challenges of the EU accession process of North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia, particularly the prospects of accelerated integration and phasing-in concepts. Furthermore, the study visit further expanded the existing people-to-people links primarily in the three countries.<\/p>\n

In Tirana, Anamarija Velinovska and Ana Sofeska, representatives from IDSCS and Jelica Minic, Vice-President of the European Movement in Serbia (EMinS) were hosted by Andi Balla, Researcher at AIIS.<\/p>\n

During the meetings, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the civil sector impact with the representatives from the local think tank organization Cooperation and Development Institute (CDI), Kristela Hackaj<\/em>, Executive Director and Stela Ademi,<\/em> Project Manager. Furthermore, they discussed the project with public officials, including Daniela Tako<\/em>, representative of the Department of Policy and EU Integration of the Prime Minister\u2019s Office and Admira Jorgji<\/em>, Director of the EU Department at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania. Additionally, they have been welcomed by Alexis Hupin<\/em>, Head of the European Integration, Political and Press and Information section of the EU Delegation to Albania where they discussed recent trends and challenges within the three targeted countries.<\/p>\n

The project Advancing regional cooperation and EU integration through the Think Balkan’s initiative<\/em> is financially supported by the Western Balkans Fund\u00a0(WBF)<\/a> and implemented by Institute for Democracy (IDSCS) in coordination with the partners European Movement in Serbia (EMinS)<\/a> and Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS).<\/a><\/p>\n
