{"id":22608,"date":"2022-03-11T14:35:04","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T14:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idscs.org.mk\/?p=22608"},"modified":"2022-03-22T10:46:13","modified_gmt":"2022-03-22T10:46:13","slug":"idscs-co-organised-the-4th-balkans-leadership-academy-for-development-in-skopje","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idscs.org.mk\/en\/2022\/03\/11\/idscs-co-organised-the-4th-balkans-leadership-academy-for-development-in-skopje\/","title":{"rendered":"IDSCS co-organised the 4th Balkans Leadership Academy for Development in Skopje"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our organization conducted the <strong>4<sup>th<\/sup> Leadership Academy for Development for the Balkan region: The Role of Public Policy in Private Sector Development <\/strong>in partnership with the Center on Democracy, Development, and Rule of Law of Stanford University (CDDRL) and the Faculty of Law \u2018Iustinianus Primus\u2019 Skopje from March 7 to 11, 2022. Since 2017 LAD has held courses in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro.<\/p>\n<p>The program was implemented with the financial and logistical support of the Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).<\/p>\n<p>The five-day intensive training was led by Leadership Academy for Development faculty <strong>Francis Fukuyama<\/strong>, <strong>Roger Leeds<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Bennon<\/strong>. During the program 25 participants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge in the field of finance, management, and public policy, as well as to acquire additional leadership skills through a combination of lectures and case studies. The course was held in English.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this program, professors Fukuyama, Leeds and Bennon met with the President of North Macedonia, <strong>Stevo Pendarovski. <\/strong>Professor Fukuyama also delivered a talk on <strong>&#8220;Ukraine and its impact on current security affairs in Europe&#8221;<\/strong> on the evening of March 9. This lecture was held in cooperation with the Faculty of Law \u2018Iustinianus Primus\u2019 Skopje, and several students from the faculty attended.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, during his stay in Skopje, Professor Fukuyama gave interviews for 360 Degrees, Radio Free Europe and Al Jazeera Balkans.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-22608 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-large'><figure
