The opposition boycott and the procedure for revoking the mandates of opposition MPs have been the two issues which have captured most of the media attention in November. Compared to the previous periods, we recorded an increase in the percentage of information where the sources are from only one political option. In contrast, the percentage of information from both sources \u2013 governmental and opposition \u2013 was reduced for more than half.The media rarely consulted the MPs and the political parties as sources, and more often the representatives of the executive branch.<\/p>\n
The Parliament was mostly mentioned in the context of a boycott by the opposition parties, the wider political developments, and inter-party relations. Much less has been reported on the content of the debate and the arguments presented at the sessions. With this, the public was yet again not fully informed of the topics of Parliamentary discussion, the contents of laws and legal amendments, as well as the presented arguments.<\/p>\n
These are some of the findings that can be found in the Third Report on Monitoring of the Media Reporting on the work of the Parliament for the period 1-30 November. The monitoring included the following media: Dnevnik, Utrinski vesnik, Vecer, Sloboden pecat, Koha, Lajm, Sitel, Telma, Alsat-M and MRT2 in Albanian language. The monitoring is conducted in the framework of the \u2018Parliament Watch! Strenghtening the Political Debate and Deliberative Discourse\u2019, funded by the European Union.<\/p>\n
