{"id":12172,"date":"2021-03-31T09:27:42","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T09:27:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idscs.org.mk\/en\/?p=12172"},"modified":"2022-09-20T09:11:27","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T09:11:27","slug":"4th-regional-leadership-academy-for-development-for-the-western-balkans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idscs.org.mk\/en\/2021\/03\/31\/4th-regional-leadership-academy-for-development-for-the-western-balkans\/","title":{"rendered":"4th Regional Leadership Academy for Development for the Western Balkans"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text animation_duration=&#8221;1&#8243; animation_delay=&#8221;0&#8243;]The Leadership Academy for Development (LAD) is a flagship project implemented by <a href=\"https:\/\/cddrl.fsi.stanford.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre for Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) of the Stanford University<\/a> led by Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Francis-Fukuyama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Francis Fukuyama<\/a>. The LAD course is an intensive, off-site, executive-level training program directed towards mid-level government officials, prominent academics, civil society activists, think tankers and private sector practitioners who have public interest responsibilities and understanding of the reforms that are shaping the democratic life in their respective countries and contribute to the economic development.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute for Democracy in partnership with the Department of Political Science within the Faculty of Law Iustinianus Primus from Skopje and supported by the German Marshall Fund of the U.S., and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) will implement the 4th Regional Leadership Academy for Development for the Western Balkan countries in Skopje, North Macedonia. Over the past three years, CDDRL has held LAD in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro. The LAD Skopje event is scheduled to be held in late summer this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute will assist in targeting up to 30 leaders and executives going beyond the typical audience of government officials and business leaders, recognizing the important role many scholars and civil society actors play in governance reform efforts in the Western Balkans. The organization will select participants through a competitive process and will provide lectures and interactive exercises led by an accomplished team of international scholars and local experts.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Academy will formalize the LAD Balkan Alumni Network and provide a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and cooperation among the program\u2019s participants.
