Institute for Democracy together with Francois Lafond, adviser to Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs , organized a second closed workshop on the new EU enlargement methodology as proposed by the European Commission in February 2020.<\/p>\n

The debate between stakeholders from state institutions, Civil Society Representatives and academics was based on a commentary prepared by Dragan Tilev, state counselor at the Secretariat for European Affairs, followed by a presentation of the current state of the National Programme of Adaptation of the Acquis (NPAA).<\/p>\n

During the discussion, participants highlighted the importance of clarity and political commitments at all sides, both the EU and North Macedonia, to proceed in the accession process building the next steps upon stable and sustainable mechanisms and structures.<\/p>\n
