The youth wings of political parties are a particularly important factor for the advancement of democracy. They play a key role in ensuring the sustainability and stability of political parties and are the spring of future generations of leaders who will lead the country. The youth wings were established in order to represent the interests of young people, who are a significant part of the population and the electorate, but also to encourage their political participation. Hence, their involvement in the policy making processes in the political parties, in which the preparation of election programs has the central place, is particularly important for democracy as a whole. The essential involvement of young people in these processes contributes to building the capacities of future personnel, thus creating informed policies, but also contributes towards inclusion and wider consensus for resolving the priority issues in the society, such as fight against corruption.
This brief document on public policies aims to analyze the participation of the youth wings of three political parties: VMRO-DPMNE, SDSM and Alternativa in the creation of policies and electoral programs, with a focus on anti-corruption policies.
