The institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” – Skopje (IDSCS) in cooperation with the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) from Gostivar and the Organization of women from Sveti Nikole (OWSN), started the implementation of the project “Promoting social inclusion through effective use of EU funding”.
The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacities of the public institution Institute for Social Activities (ISA), the Social Work Centers (SWCs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) that work in the area of social protection, as well as to develop innovative social inclusion programs through efficient utilization of EU funds.
In the first months of its implementation, the project partners would conduct a survey aimed at the SWCs and CSOs with a goal to determine their capacities. In addition, a nation-wide, public opinion survey on problems related to social exclusion will be also conducted. Some of the other project outputs envisaged in the project are four trainings for more efficient utilization of the EU funds with representatives from CSOs, local SWCs and ISA, as well as creation of a training module for management of EU projects, whose ownership, subsequently, will be transferred to ISA following the project completion. Moreover, the project promotes further strengthening of the cooperation between CSOs and SWCs on a local level. CSO activities aimed at social inclusion action plans monitoring in three municipalities will be supported. Finally, the reports from the monitoring will be published in a volume of reports.
The project duration is 15 months, from December 2015 to March 2017 with a total budget of €135.611 and is supported by the European Commission.
