On 9 December 2014 in Skopje, 15 civic organizations founded the Platform for Fight Against. The platform towards proactive, dynamic, and civil society which will play important part in the fight against corruption.
Through joint reactions the platform will aim to act as a corrective of the current conditions, and it will cooperate and communicate with all the concerned stakeholders, including the state institutions, political parties, the business community and the international community. This platform will monitor and analyze the legal framework and the current public policies and it will initiate legal changes where necessary.
The effectiveness, transparency and integrity of the relevant institutions will be monitored continuously. Particular attention will be paid to the cooperation with the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption and its work. The platform will monitor and analyze the effectiveness of the judiciary and the work of other institutions (MOI, CFDs, PPB, PRO) in the processing of cases related to corruption. It will monitor and analyze the transparency and accountability of public institutions with a higher risk of corruption (judiciary, police, health, inspections etc ..). The platform will encourage and support initiatives for greater transparency in the adoption and implementation of the budget of Republic of Macedonia and the budgets of the local governments, and it will monitor the funding of political parties and the use of public resources for political parties’ interests. In addition to this, an initiative for easier (statistical) access to data will also be raised.
The platform will work on raising citizens’ awareness about the fight against corruption. Innovative solutions that will lead to higher integrity of the institutions and the citizens will be initiated, the citizens will be encouraged to inform about cases of corruption and a public debate on the impact of political and socio-cultural factors that affect corruption will be stimulated.
