The Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” – Skopje (IDSCS) conducted the first Internet survey aimed for citizens of Republic of Macedonia who live abroad. As a result of the Internet survey, IDSCS prepared an analytical research report “Macedonian Citizens Abroad – Vote YES for Voting Abroad”. The report presents and analyzes how much Macedonian citizens abroad are familiar and interested to vote abroad, do they know the electoral regulation, what is their political orientation and their connections with the country of origin. This way, IDSCS aims to present new data and arguments to the ongoing public debate on electoral policy but also to influence and contribute to creating an electoral system which will adequately meet the needs of the Macedonian citizens.
The Internet survey was conducted from 18 December 2013 to 12 January 12 2014 on a sample of 378 respondents who could fill in the survey in Macedonian, Albanian or English.
