Shadow RIA: Two public policy documents, how to improve Regulatory Impact Assessment in Macedonia

The implementation of the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) process in Macedonia has so far shown serious shortcomings. Its importance has been recognized, but poor quality enforcement is hampered by its long-term sustainability.

These are part of the findings from the policy brief documents presented by the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” and the Center for Economic Analysis.

Both documents analyze how the process is being conducted in the country and what are the experiences of other countries.

“Comparative good practices in the application of RIA and possibilities for their implementation” by Jovan Bliznakovski and “Model for analysis of the effectiveness of RIA” by Natalia Shikova are made within the project “Regulatory Impact Assessment in the Shadow: Fostering evidence-based policy making in Macedonia”, whose budget is 332.099 EUR and is financially supported by the Delegation of the European Union with a share of 298.889 EUR.
